As Twitter continues to expand into the daily conscious of many I began to wonder how I could best stay connected to Twitter on my iphone without expending much energy. So I did what I always do when it comes to seeking information, I did a Google search for the best Twitter app. I now have my top three Twitter Apps as well as can see how I will use one of them in my business. Read on.
1. Tweetie - good overall app for use, and staying focused. The computer version which syncs is meant for the MAC.
I have to admit that I was surprised to learn that I’m already connected with what is seen as one of the best iphone apps by Mashable - Tweetie.
This is what they had to say:
Tweetie: Not to be confused with impostors, Tweetie combines beauty, speed, and function in an impressive option that will only set you back $2.99. The app supports multiple accounts, search, saved searches, retweets, user profiles, follow options, a landscape keyboard, Instapaper integration, conversation views, and flashy UI elements. It’s the Twitterati’s app of choice, and ours too.
iTunes rating: 4 stars
Mashable rating: 5 stars
The most amusing part to this gal was that I wasn’t fully using the apps power - hence I was out there looking for the bigger, better and more shiny app. I spent some time playing around see how I can better use this app.
But, during my search I also came up with two other options that I believe look worth reviewing before you get tweetie as they have some other bells and whistles.
2. Tweetdeck - good app for the power user as well as the ADD twitter user that also wants to stay connected on Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, post photos, etc. You can sync with your iphone and computer. Tweetdeck was one of the first to market with a wide array of features and has a large market share.
Newer to market and taking the web and mobile market by storm is…
3. Hootsuite - good app if you are a power user, have more than one twitter account and want to keep your eye on many without spending a lot of time or energy. My coach and friend Kathy swears by its ability to allow her to be big brother, or is that big sister? One of the features that really stands out to me is the ability to create some tweets and send them out at will vs. in real time.
As I did some more digging Hootsuite seems to have really invested time, energy and brainpower in it’s continued development.
In December 2009 it debuted it’s iphone app. As soon as I’m finished posting I’m going to get the app (because I can’t stop myself). Although for what I’ve done until this point Tweetie has been terrific for my general and personal Twitter use - so I’m keeping that app too.But seems like it’s worth checking out Hootsuite and reviewing how I can use that in my social networking for business.
If you’re looking for the right web or mobile platform do check out Tweetie, Tweetdeck and Hootsuite - between the three of them you can’t go wrong.
I’d love to hear your comments.
