Your True Truth - Inspiration and Quote

What I know to be true is that day in and day out we all struggle with fully believing in our self from the inside, out.  Some times I personally wish it would be as easy as eating a jelly bean and poof all my doubts, fears, worries, and procrastination would dissipate and fade into nothingness.  Post Easter I’ve been raiding Eli’s basket and the truth is, even though they taste great, it wasn’t a fix.

I was on a mastermind call yesterday and noticed that all three of us have a lot going on that is pulling at us - do this, no do this, and actual outsiders letting one or more of us know that things weren’t how they wanted them.  But the kicker is that they hadn’t communicated what they wanted nor did they even bother to tell us, they told others instead.  This caused frustration and actual tears.

A few of thoughts hit me:

  • you can only control what you can control - you can’t control others, but you can be clear on what you want and ASK for it - or even demand it - this takes courage
  • putting your head down and simply “working harder” isn’t going to make it any better until the communication lines are open
  • it’s easier to be a coward and simply tell everyone else but the person you have the gripe with, I just want to say F*&K you, sure it will make you feel better in that brief moment - but it’s not any different then what they did.
  • To stop patterns and start new ones you must first be clear with yourself - what do you want, and are you willing to ask for it, and then finally are you willing to stand by it?
  • When you are feeling aimless, and really procrastinating, you are not clear on what you want
  • When you take every other action but the actions you told yourself you wanted to take you are not clear on what you want and your are increasing the pain in your life
  • It’s easy to get depressed when you are not feeding your heart, just as it’s easy to bring joy into your lift by taking actions that support what you want
  • The only person that can make it better, is you
  • Taking action, a baby step towards what you want, and literally checking it off a list increases your level of satisfaction
  • Allowing yourself to feel the joy for having listened to yourself (your heart) is rewarding
  • You’ll know you are coming from the inside, when you can say no to someone else so you can say YES to yourself - even when it’s really difficult in the moment

Ok, I admit I didn’t have that many thoughts on the call, but as I wrote it became more and more clear - when we speak our truth we realize it is the most important truth in all of the world - no one, can take your truth away from you because it’s uniquely yours.

This morning I pulled an inspiration card which was very fitting:

“But whose “truth” is the true truth?”

Quote:  “With enough attention to anything,m the essence of what you have been giving thought to will eventually become a physical manifestation.  An then as others give attention to it, they help it expand.  In time, this manifestation, whether wanted or not, is called Truth…deliberate reaction is about deliberately choosing those experiences you make your Truths.”

May you read this post exactly when you need it most….looking forward to hearing how what action you took to help you step into your own truth and believe in yourself.

Hi Michele,

Michael Corey said that I must get in touch with you as part of my networking quest. And after reading your blog, me doing so is an action I am taking along the path as I continue to realize my own truths and beliefs.

Other steps along my path have resulted in me becoming a mediator practioner (beginning tomorrow night), a student of personal leadership, soon to receive my intercultural communication certificate, have been learning a bit of graphic recording and facilitation, and I am currently enrolled in a professional coaching program called New Ventures West based in CA. I have an extensive background working with the environment. I have two more months left in my current Americorps Vista volunteer position at the Dispute Resolution Center where I’ve spent the time building capacity for the volunteer inside prison mediation program. Currently I have begun to surface and to survey the landscape for possibilities. Thanks for reading through this and I would love to have an informational meeting with you if you have the time. Best Wishes,Terry
